We had a great time at the Cedar Valley Stem & Stein: Food, Beer & Wine Fest. This is the 2nd year we had participated in Stem & Stein.  We are proud about taking home a 3rd place award for our experimental beer, "To Peach Their Own". The competition was all amazing this year which makes this an even bigger honor.  And what makes our victory even sweeter is that the event proceeds went to benefit the Waterloo Center for the Arts.

Now, we're sure you may be wondering what "To Peach Their Own" is.  Last New Year's, we made a batch of traditional Berliner Weisse because the Brew Crew wanted a highly carbonated, effervescent beer to toast with for the New Year. Everyone was quite pleased with how it turned out!  Heading into the summer months we discussed what fruit would pair well with the refreshingly tart character of the Berliner Weisse.  We concluded that the peach flavor provides the perfect compliment to our Berliner Weisse...and thus, "To Peach Their Own" was born.  Expect to see our newest beer in a keg and can near you very soon.
